Alright people, I am back from a long but not long enough trip from Berlin. It has been a crazy couple of last weeks and I’ve been looking for something different, a bit more chilled out. I stumbled over the Electro Swing Crew, hailing from Hamburg, Germany.
I’ve had the pleasure of being to a Parov Stelar live show once and it was totally awesome. Like listening to house music at a festival but everyone is swing dancing and dressed up. Super awesome! Anyways check out this live set and possibly allow a new genre into your repertoire if you aren’t aware of this, yet.
Curious to see what else they’ll release in the future.
Welcome to a very special Friday. I’m posting this from the road because I’m visiting my hometown Berlin and I’m celebrating this Friday with a set by Berlin local Boys Noize. I’m probably going to have to fix some of the formatting on this post. This is my first time posting something from mobile 😅😎
I’m so glad Lunar sent me this live mix today. I usually post videos of live mixes but this Techno mix is so much gold I just really had to post it because it literally is my party mix for this friday and the weekend.
John “Lunar Vision” and I met back during the time when I started playing in the Sacramento area from around 2009-2011. Always a stand up guy and a pleasure to be at shows with. I have mad respect for him and the people in the Sacramento scene from back then.
I was lucky enough to have experienced one of the Justice sets around 2007 at Coachella. It turned my house music world upside down.. Funk plus attack style cuts and edits.. I didn’t know what hit me. Unfortunately I can’t find a recording of that set, but this is the closest to that style they played back then. Still, this mix is my anthem into the weekend 🙂
It also inspired me to do this mashup using Justice and Wolfgang Gartner tracks:
Due to feeling that global flu this week I needed something gentler to listen to. This week’s cold medicine and flu solution is Eelke Kleijn. Some melodic deep house to smoothly stay in the groove thanks to Mixmag.
